University of Southern California + Los Angeles County (LAC+USC)

Program Description

Type of Program

Our fellowship program is based at LA General Medical Center (Formerly LAC+USC Medical Center), home to a PGY 1-4 program with 20 residents/year. This is a large, busy public hospital + Level 1 trauma center, with high acuity and interesting pathology.

Our fellowship program is designed to take our fellows anywhere they want to go with their careers. This is a terrific place to learn but we also take great pride in our development of educators and the opportunities to teach are numerous over the year. Fellows receive research mentorship and have the opportunity to collaborate with other faculty outside of the ultrasound division if interested (Global Health, Pre-hospital Care, Medical Education, to name a few). Additionally, fellows are mentored on the administrative aspects of POCUS program management through both didactic presentations and rotational responsibilities in the division over the course of the year.

Our fellows have placed in both academic and community positions and many have chosen to stay in Los Angeles.
