Resident Education Experience
Is there a dedicated US month?
Yes - all emergency medicine residents (10 per PGY class) complete an emergency ultrasound block during their intern year as well as during their PGY3 year. These rotations are comprised of hands-on scan shifts in the ED (some with US faculty and some self-directed), an US curriculum, medical school educational experiences, and US journal club.
Is there an US elective?
Yes - senior emergency medicine residents have the opportunity to complete an advanced emergency ultrasound elective, beyond their intern emergency ultrasound block, if they choose to do so.

Other Information
Our residency program came in 2nd place (out of 75 teams) in the 2022 SAEM SonoGames competition in New Orleans. The residents were led by US fellow at the time Caleb Manasco (Fellow Class of 2022).
