Ultrasound Fellowship Education
Fellows work 18-20 clinical hours per week (2 shifts) as an attending physician in the emergency department supervising Geisel medical students and a myriad of resident specialties.
In addition fellows are expected to spend 8 hours per week, excluding vacation, performing point of care ultrasound with one of the co-directors accompanied by junior residents/medical students on rotation in the ED.
Image review occurs every week for 4 hours with one of the co-directors. The fellow will run image review and is responsible for generating feedback to all residents and faculty through Synchronicity.
The DHMC ED US team is active in research and educating practitioners throughout the institution at all levels of training. Fellows will be given every opportunity to participate in all aspects of local, regional, and national opportunities.
