Other Duties
The EUS fellow will be involved in PEM fellow education, both in giving lectures as well as assisting with hands-on teaching in the emergency department during scanning shifts.
They will have numerous opportunities to teach medical students in structured sessions at George Washington University Medical School.
The fellow will be responsible for leading discussion at monthly POCUS journal club.

The fellow will have abundant teaching opportunities, locally, regionally and internationally to teach varied groups of learners.
There are continuous opportunities to learn about the administrative aspects about POCUS especially credentialing, competency issues, quality assurance and work flows.
Educational Experience
The vast majority of scanning time is spent in the emergency department, with the exception of a highly regarded cardiology rotation (scanning in the echo lab with techs/cardiology fellows as well as reading with cardiology attendings). Other opportunities to learn with other specialists such as regional anesthesia and OB are available.
Image Review
Image review is a crucial part of your fellowship, both for quality assurance as well as education. Every clinical image from CNH as well as GWU Hospital are reviewed on a regularly scheduled weekly basis.
