Program Description
Type of Program
This is a one-year Pediatric Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship.
The fellow will be appointed to the clinical staff as a part time attending in the Division of Emergency Medicine. As such, we are currently only able to entertain applications from individuals who are board-certified or board-eligible in pediatric emergency medicine (either through ABP or ABEM).
Year Fellowship Started
2015
Ultrasound Program Status
The fellowship is sponsored by the Division of Pediatric Emergency Medicine at The Steven and Alexandra Cohen Children's Medical Center (CCMC).
In addition to our training program in emergency ultrasound, the division trains: 9 pediatric emergency medicine fellows, rotating residents (pediatrics, emergency medicine, family medicine, psychiatry, podiatry, and others), and medical students from the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. As such, the fellow will have ample time to hone their clinical teaching skills while working clinically.
Number of Ultrasound Faculty
Our division supports 3 point-of-care faculty members, each of whom is actively involved in training the PoCUS fellow.
In addition, there are multiple faculty at affiliated general EDs within the Northwell system.
Further, we collaborate with numerous local pediatric PoCUS programs to sponsor joint academic events.

We hope to produce highly trained physicians who will have gained a solid level of understanding in Pediatric Emergency Ultrasound, with goals that this new skill set will translate seamlessly into their clinical environment and make an immediate impact in their care of children.
