The Baystate Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship is a one year position open to board certified/board eligible emergency physicians who have completed an EM residency. The fellowship focuses on refining and expanding basic ultrasound skills gained in residency and learning new applications. Ultrasound program development is stressed, as are the development of teaching skills. The main goal is to provide the emergency physician with all the tools necessary to be an effective emergency ultrasound director.
The Baystate Emergency Department is located in a busy, high-acuity Level 1 tertiary care center that sees over 105,000 emergency visits a year. In addition the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship, the Baystate emergency department also includes an emergency medicine residency, pediatric emergency medicine fellowship and an emergency medicine medical student rotation.
